In early July, we spent a week in northern Italy. Our first stop after flying into Milan, was taking the train south to the beach town of Camogli just east of Genoa. The views were not bad. Our first excursion was to take a ferry to a nearby cove, San Fruttuoso. The rest of our time in Camogli was spent hanging at the beach and eating lots of seafood and focaccia. After Camogli, we made the trek north to Lake Como. Our base was the small hamlet of San Giovanni, just south of Bellagio. We used the ferry system on the lake to check out the towns of Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzo and Varenna.
