Into the Alps

We headed to Switzerland for a long weekend in September. We started our journey with a scenic train ride on the Golden Pass Express from Geneva to Interlaken.  From Interlaken, we took a train to Lauterbrunnen for our base at the floor of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The views from our place were not too bad. On our first day, we took the cable car to Grütschlap (1487m), the a train to Mürren (1634m), and finally a furnicular to Allmendhubel (1932m).  Once we arrived at Allmendhubel, we were greeted with an amazing playground and strategically located lodge with a patio next to the playground. After a quick, we set off on our hike back down to Mürren. We then took a big cable car for the ascent all the way up to the Schilthorn peak at 2740m (9744 feet). We then descended back to the vall
