Into the Alps

We headed to Switzerland for a long weekend in September. We started our journey with a scenic train ride on the Golden Pass Express from Geneva to Interlaken.
From Interlaken, we took a train to Lauterbrunnen for our base at the floor of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The views from our place were not too bad.

On our first day, we took the cable car to Grütschlap (1487m), the a train to Mürren (1634m), and finally a furnicular to Allmendhubel (1932m).

Once we arrived at Allmendhubel, we were greeted with an amazing playground and strategically located lodge with a patio next to the playground.

After a quick, we set off on our hike back down to Mürren.

We then took a big cable car for the ascent all the way up to the Schilthorn peak at 2740m (9744 feet).

We then descended back to the valley floor for a quick hike to Staubbach Falls.

The next morning, we took the Wengernalpbahn mountain train from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen (1274m) and then a cable car up to Männlichen (2343m).

At the Männlichen station, there was yet another unbelievable playground.
We slid down the cow's tongue a few dozen times and then started on our 4.5km hike to Kleine Scheidegg (2061m). When we arrived, we found another playground and lodge patio calling out name.
The following day, we set off to hike up the Trümmelbach Falls that cut through the face of the valley wall.

We then made our way to Grindewald (1034m) via the Berner Overland-bahn mountain train. The rain dis not stop us from exploring another playground before finding an empty ice rink all for ourselves.

We decided to check out the Glacier Canyon Gorge walk and it did not disappoint.

Until next time, Switzerland!
