In and Around Brussels

After our weekend in Antwerp, we have spent some time getting used to life in Brussels.

This is our house, in the Watermael Boitsfort neighborhood on the south side of Brussels.

The kids started school this week at The International School of Brussels.
Nathan and I went to the final home match of the season for Union Saint Gilloise.

We spent the day on Saturday wondering around the city center and visited the Grand Place and went to a Lego exhibition - The Art of the Brick.

We then got a snack and strolled through the gardens at the Mont de Arts and Parc de Bruxelles near the Royal Palace.





On our way home, we discovered a small garden in our neighborhood.
After a long day, it was time for pizza and ice cream.

We headed to Switzerland for a long weekend in September. We started our journey with a scenic train ride on the Golden Pass Express from Geneva to Interlaken.  From Interlaken, we took a train to Lauterbrunnen for our base at the floor of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The views from our place were not too bad. Paris

Our first big weekend excursion we planned was to Paris. We quickly decided that one weekend wasn't enough and since Grandma Cordy would coincidentally be in Paris the following weekend, we decided to come back for a second weekend! On our first night, we wandered around and saw the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. The next day was a surprise trip to Disneyland Paris. Too much magic for these guys! The next day started with a long wait in line to take the elevator up the Eiffel Tower After an exhausting morning, it was time for a relaxing picnic and stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg.
